Explore Umina Beach
Umina Beach accommodation is set in a seaside town tucked between Woy Woy and Ettalong Beach on the Central Coast, NSW. Situated on the Woy Woy Peninsular (known to locals as ‘The Peninsula’), Umina Beach is a thriving coastal town with one unbroken sand shoreline that has been divided in to two areas: Umina Beach and Ocean Beach and each beach has their own Surf Life Saving Club.
The word ‘Umina’ is an Aboriginal word which means ‘place of sleep’. Once home to the Guringai Aboriginal tribe, European settlers first visited the area in 1788 when Governor Arthur Phillip and his team of sailors made the journey to Broken Bay.
Originally home to Australian actress Belinda Emmett, Umina Beach is a popular holiday location. The town offers fine dining cuisines which include Thai, Chinese and Seafood. When not surfing, fishing or playing in the rock pools, visitors can visit local putt-putt and golf ranges, ten-pin bowling, aquatic centre, shopping centres, pubs, clubs and restaurants.
